Director, Strategic Partnerships
Verna Sulpizio is a graduate of the University of California at Davis with a degree in Community and Regional Development. She is the Director of Strategic Partnerships at Visit Sacramento and is responsible for elevating the organization’s partnership and services programs to better serve the needs of clients and local business partners. Her development of Visit Sacramento’s new partnership program is leading the industry nationally with one of the most unique and innovative programs providing local businesses with opportunities to connect with Sacramento’s tourism economy to grow their revenues.
Verna has spent her career as a non-profit executive and consultant focused on redesigning organizations and their programs to better meet the needs of their customers. An outside-of-the-box thinker, Verna has never been accused of being boring and brings her ideas, innovation, and enthusiasm to all the organizations she works with. She served as the President & CEO of the West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce and Executive Director of the Florin Road Partnership before joining Visit Sacramento to begin her career in tourism.
Verna is an American Leadership Forum Fellow and graduate of Leadership Sacramento. She is a founding member of Metro EDGE, the Sacramento Metro Chamber’s young professionals group and was the organization’s first Political Action Committee Chair. She is a past Chair of the Urban Land Institute’s Young Leaders Group and currently sits on the Editorial Board for Comstock’s Business Magazine. Verna is a Sacramento Business Journal “40 under 40” award winner and was a California Travel Association “Emerging Leader”.
