While special events happen year-round, there are several LGBTQ events that happen annually. From our popular PRIDE Festival to BENT - Sacramento LGBTQ Film Festival, these events are gaining popularity every year and are attended by visitors and residents alike.
Sacramento PRIDE takes place every June and features a parade, guest speakers, roving entertainment, kid's fun, food and more! Formerly the Lambda Freedom Fair, it is the oldest and largest gay pride event in Sacramento.
BENT Sacramento LGBTQ Film Festival celebrates the best in LGBTQ films from around the world. The festival's 28-year history of sharing LGBTQ culture through film takes place annually. The festival also schedules several events and cultural activities throughout the year.
The Rainbow Festival is an annual street fair that takes place every year over Labor Day weekend and consists of exhibitor booths, food stations and live bands. This festival raises money for charities that have significant importance to the gay and lesbian community.
From its inception, the LGBT Wedding Expo has been more of celebration of love and life, than a tried and tired convention of endless booths. Each expo has hosted entertainment like, a fashion show, a DJ, raffle drawings, wine tasting, beer from Hoppy Brewery and even bubbly from Barefoot Wines. The LGBT Expo is certainly not your typical, boring wedding convention. Not to mention, the event is Free, and so is parking! So even if you are not quite ready to tie the big, artisan knot, mark your calendar to come to the LGBT Wedding Expo, regardless. It's going to be a fun time!
